Photo of the CIIC (Coalition of Irish Immigration Center Members) who met with
the Taoiseach, Brian Cowan on July 16, 2008 in New York. The members discussed
a range of issues and concerns face by the Irish immigrant community and all
the Irish Centers. The agenda included the increase in new arrivals to the US,
the difficulties faced by undocumented immigrants, those who are detained and
imprisoned as well as the situation of seniors, barriers faced by those who are
returning to Ireland, challenges experienced by J-1 visa holders and the impact
of substance abuse in our communities.

The staff at EIIC clubbed together and in lieu of exchanging Christmas gifts amongst each other made a donation of $240 to this worthy cause.
Caroline Hart has been our receptionist in the Woodlawn Office for the past four years. She is heading home to Ireland to continue and compliment her studies in Education.
We will miss her, but wish her the very best of luck as she starts this new chapter in her life. We also welcome Lisa McGovern to the office as our new office manager.

Time: Thursday, June 21, 2007 The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO), along with the Emerald Isle Immigration Center, invited interested parties to "Immigrants Rights Day" followed by an evening reception. The day was designed to bring immigrant advocacy organizations and representatives throughout New York together to give a comprehensive view of the rights of both documented and undocumented immigrants.
More than 100 immigrant advocates attended from all over New York.
